Accommodation

Booking.com

One of our favourite sites Booking.com offers the user a great search resource for hotels, hostels and B&B. Easy to use interface and a vast selection of offers, make it a must for any trip. The other great thing about booking.com is that it gives you an option to not have to pay until you stay.

Hostel World

One of the best if not the best hostel accommodation companies out there. It has one of the largest collection of hostels and one of the best interfaces. With 250,000 people a month booking on this site it can’t be bad.

Airbnb

A great alternative to the normal hotel route is Airbnb. The site connects homeowners who rent out their homes to you. The advantages are you’ll receive all the luxuries you get at home and pay a sliver of the cost. You can also sign up your own home while your away.

Priceline.com

Bidding on hotels might seem a bit out there but it works. It sometimes saves you a chunk of money by not booking directly through the main sites. The company also own Kayak and Bookings.com and so you know your in good hands.

TripAdvisor

This is a great review website, where travellers score restaurants, hotels and accommodation. Simply enter in your hotel name in the search bar and the reviews will come up. You can view the opinions from ‘excellent’ to ‘terrible’.

Users also provide photos of accommodation too, so you can get a real sense of the place you’ll be staying at… so hopefully so nasty surprises!
